A Word From One of the Creators

From the desk of Eric Ratcliffe

I really want to make that punchline into a t-shirt; don’t know why but I think it would sell like crazy. I actually really like Warwick Davis and his body of work. He also has a really great sense of humor in general about his career. Last year he teamed up with Ricky Gervais to do a show called “Life’s too short” which I’ve only watched the first few episodes so far but it’s really funny. Highly recommend it if you can find it.

Oh, and I freely admit that with the Star Wars smaller arc, I decided I needed to change costumes. Obviously last time I was Luke Skywalker, but I think comic me just looks better in the Han Solo gear.

Which do you guys like better, by the way? I like both Willow and Labyrinth, but Labyrinth has David Bowie so it’s certainly my choice for the better movie.

Recommendations: I’ve started reading Hoax Hunters from Image and from a tone and overly theme standpoint it reminds me of Proof a lot, therefore if you guys can find the issues as it’s almost done its first arc I’d highly recommend seeking it out. (Or just use Comixology)

Also, I’ve finally been able to fully listen to the new Coheed and Cambria Album “The Afterman: Ascension:” which is really, really good and I couldn’t recommend it higher than I can here, definitely check it out. Well worth listening to.

Wednesday…our annual Thanskgiving strip as the team sits down for dinner, but who is missing and why? Tune in on Wednesday to find out!

A Word From One of the Creators

From the desk of Brant Fowler

For the record, real-life me likes and fondly remembers Willow. My cousin and I rented that from the local video store back in the day when we lived together as kids. It was a fun movie that we watched over and over again. So it was pretty cool to hear all the talk about it again here in recent weeks, even if most of it was in jest, just like here in NCD! :)

  1. I haven’t seen Willow in about a decade so I’m not ready to compare it. I’ll have to see if it’s on NetFlix Streaming.

I loved Willow and Labyrinth and even the Dark crystal and that new one in the same vein… i think it was Mirror mask or something similar.

I really enjoyed the Chronicles of the Shadow War novels which follow on from the Willow storyline with chris claremont writing them. They really delve deeper into that world and of course they have the Brownies in it too!!
