A Word From One of the Creators

The werewolves were not there in the original script. That totally came out of Jim and I’s saturday night sketch session. In fact, we almost went with a bit on that fourth panel that had Jeff flipping off the werewolves. But as an all ages webcomic, we can’t exactly be doing that. At one point we almost had Jeff putting his hand out basically telling them to wait as he yelled at me on the phone.

That’s Jeff by the way, one of my best friends on the planet. A man I’ve known since right before the 4th grade; we met at a camp and have been good friends since.

This is the guy who introduced me to some of my favorite bands, to which in turn I’ve introduced him to some of my favorite comics. We’ve battled hordes together, built clubs, played D &D, and the list goes on and on. I’ve wanted to introduce him into NCD for a while now and felt it was as good a time as any. Really, he’s been around for me through some rough times and I really like showing a slightly different side of things from a new supporting character’s perspective.

Next week I may tell some more stories, not sure yet. There’s stuff I don’t want to get into as it would be fun to use it in the strip.

Jim and I will be at NYCC in just a few weeks, so if you see us around say hi and I’m sure we’d be willing to chat. (unless of course I’m running around like a crazy person trying to get to an interview –  it happens sometimes)
