So Warlock wasn’t in the original script. I was messing around with Jim (even he doesn’t know this) and decided I’d wait until we were working on the strip to tell him he could throw him in there if he wanted. So if you’re reading my commentary, Jim, got ya! He did laugh when I told him he could put him in there so I’m sure he probably would have snuck him in anyways.

Seriously though, the very second I decided I was bringing in Thanos I knew I needed the Guardians. Thanks to DnA and Keith Giffen, they are seriously my favorite team in the Marvel universe. It’s surprising just how much good writing can appeal to me as a fan. Not to mention the fact that the giant talking tree and the raccoon have become fan favorite characters is astounding to me.

On a technical level, what Jim was doing with these panels was insane, the man does rough outlines in less than an hour with us talking out ideas. It’s a lot of fun to see someone work like that.

As usual, I do want to throw in another recommendation. So this week, I’m going to give a shout out to the guys at Game Grumps. It’s a YouTube “let’s play” featuring 2 very funny and creative guys with YouTube channels of their own. So far they’ve been playing some more classic games but still very funny material they come up with.
