A Word From One of the Creators
From the desk of Eric Ratcliffe
Okay, that fourth panel is seriously my new favorite thing. Just every time I look at it I can’t help but laugh. Thanos smiling happily is just 10 times creepier than his cocky smile.
Also, yes, this is the return of Bucky. I decided when I was writing this arc that we hadn’t seen our favorite little mascot in quite some time that it was time to have him appear again. It’s also funny as now there are two animals hanging around in the cast (I, at this point, have no intention of bringing Clovey back; that could change at any point but I still feel that was one of my favorite callbacks in year #3). I’ve had several people asking me about Bucky lately and like I said, it just felt right to have the little guy pop back up and be wearing Rocket Racoon’s costume.
Jim’s and my weekly conference calls mapping out each strip have been incredible and a definite highlight for me. Never worked this closely with an artist before and it’s rewarding as a writer to do so. We’ve just meshed really well together. Plus we kind of get off topic in the weirdest ways some nights. (Seriously, we were talking about Hey Arnold and Are You Afraid of the Dark? the other night)
As last week I gave a shout out to tgwtg.com, I feel like this week should continue that trend. My friend Dana is coming on the podcast later today to talk about her very cool and unique comic that they are currently raising the funds for on Kickstarter, so I want to link those interested who don’t listen to the podcast to consider donating. It looks really cool and the art is truly unique, and as a fellow indie creator I feel it’s good to support stuff that is out of the norm.
Next week…just who else could be looking for Thanos? And what do the guys watch now that they have the remote?! Find out in 7, folks!
