A Word From One of the Creators

From the desk of Eric Ratcliffe

I love that first panel. Not sure what it is about said panel, but it makes me grin like a pretty big geek. It’s interesting to see Chad go as basic as possible while still showing his crazy and amazing art skills. Have I mentioned I’ll miss him when he’s gone?

Sadly, this is a pretty short commentary this week (one, because my brain’s a little fried in genera,l and two, because I have to be up in just a few hours to talk with one of my favorite writers who is currently working on the new Arrow series for the CW), but I would like to mention that we have hired a new artist… more to come on that next week!

That last panel, by the way, pretty spot on Donald Trump. I dig it a lot. While I hate his business practices, his political leanings and how he carries himself as a person… I do like the fact that Trump does seem to embrace some nerdy things (like being involved in several Wrestlemanias and having a comic book centered episode of Celebrity Apprentice). Celebrity Apprentice, by the way, has to be one of the guiltiest pleasures on the planet for me. It’s like the kind of train wreck you can’t look away from.

Next week…Chad says his goodbye with his final strip as well as some commentary of his own! See you in 7, folks!

Chad’s parting is going to be sad, but I can understand his wanting to move on to other projects and stretch his artistic wings. Whereas this was a really funny curtain call.
Chad, thanks for the past couple of years of GREAT STRIPS!!!
