I love 12 so far, he’s like the crotchety grandfather and or older uncle who just gives you the hardest time imaginable for even the smallest thing. Capaldi himself is awesome and he’s really making the role his own. Of course we haven’t seen the Doctor in strip since around the mid 200’s when Eric was being questioned by those mysterious agents.

Travis has been a fantastic guest artist just like Tori, I really love seeing how people take my ideas and play with them.

Pax was super fun but stressful this year, planning on doing Prime in Seattle in August as we speak, I’ll be doing a full write up very soon!

Next week…just what do our heroes do with the Tardis and what important date are they not or not forgetting…find out in NCD 300!

This months awesome guest artist is Travis Bramble. Travis contacted me via twitter and we became friends very fast and I invited him to do a few fill in strips here. I love his style. He has his own webcomic called Side Quest

Highly recommend reading it, it’s very fun and cool stuff.

I’ve wanted to have Chuck come back for a while now, just really haven’t thought of a good way to use his character that would have felt natural.

Okay I know some people aren’t going to get the Paul F Thompkins joke/reference. Basically for a while now, Paul has been hosting a podcast where he plays an actual time traveling HG Wells in his real time machine. Now what does Wells do with this time machine? Well he comes to the present and brings fellow dead authors with him to the present to discuss their work. The podcast is called “The dead authors podcast” and is well worth your time to listen to.

The visual of Minion and Frank together at a convention amused me so that’s where that gag came from.

We’re just 2 weeks away from 300 and I couldn’t be more excited, going to be a very awesome one.

Just who does Eric know and how can they help solve a time travel problem? Well you’re just going to have to wait 7 days to find out!

I almost wrote a slap in here but I thought it would come off too soap opera like. Though I found Elsa pretty easy to write for (even if I was writing her more like her Once Upon a Time version and not the movie version)

This is sadly Tori’s last guest strip with us though I’m hoping to eventually talk her back in to coming back sometime in the future. We’ll see. I love Tori’s style and she’s awesome so it would be great to work with her again. (Though I’ll hopefully be hanging out with her and Josh next weekend during PAX East so there’s always that)

I started a new job this week which is going very well so far, enjoying it a lot. It’s a complete change to my schedule though so its been pretty interesting. Also if you’re hopefully seeing this strip our server issues we’ll be non existent come March which will be nice.

Next week…what kind of convention do Eric and the guys go to and what does it have to do with old friend Chuck Moore?! Find out in 7 folks!

Icicle is flat out one of my favorite supervillains. When I was a teenager, Geoff Johns JSA run and the arc “stealing thunder” where the Ultra Humanite has taken over the earth and everything is very messed up and a very small team of unlikely forces comes together to try and fix things. Icicle and Hourman are a huge part of that team (and this is a huge reason I’m a big fan of both) and I really feel like he’s one of the most interesting villains out there. He’s not flat out evil and has a moral code like the Flash Rogues. So that’s why I thought he’d fit in perfectly in this arc.

I also really love the bit with Frank, everyone just ignores the big lizard and assumes things about him which is fun in its own right. I feel like he and Minion have taken over a very small space in my creative mind that causes me to write them more. Not necessarily a bad thing mind you.

We have a very awesome guest artist joining us in March and then hopefully another awesome one in April. (Still have to talk with 1 or 2 possibilities to see if they’d be interested) So we’re completely on track and a head of schedule right now.

Next week…will our heroes be victorious and just what has Elsa not been telling Eric? Find out in 7!

Yup, for those of you who guess we’d be doing a Frozen bit you get all the stars. I don’t hate the movie at all, I actually think it’s fun. Overrated definitely but fun. I love Idina Menzel and Kristin Bell of course. I actually really liked how they used the characters in Once Upon a Time.

I know I said it last week but I love Tori’s version of Minion, I just want to hug him.

I can’t remember exactly where this idea fully came from, I didn’t want to do another crazy Santa Clause bit and thought it would be funny to see how we’d interact with Frozen. Then of course while writing I think most people would have assumed comic me dated Anna and not else because of the redhead thing. It’s not a direct retcon but more of a “comic me dates more than crazy redheads” and it just added to the fun I think.

Next week…we storm a castle!

Remember the power outage that took out poor Jim’s internet and power for a few weeks a couple years ago? Yeah, that happened to Justin during Thanksgiving. It seems to be our curse around certain holidays. Here’s hoping it won’t happen next year during the holidays.

I love the idea of Thanos in that suit. I also love everything about that judge. Justin and I specifically talked a lot about this strip during Supermegafest. (Which we met some of you awesome people at… thank you so much for swinging by the table!) The idea of Daredevil’s entire argument here is insane and that’s what makes it work.

I also really enjoy the reactions in those last 2 panels, really funny stuff. Though, why Superman is at a trial using mostly Marvel characters is a mystery in itself. (But a great mystery nonetheless)

Next week our December arc begins and things are about to get very cold for our heroes. Find out why in 7!

When you originally come up with an idea for something, it can completely change and morph into something different in 11 months. When I first came up with the idea during the January teaser, I had a lot of ideas attached, from having the arc span like 8 different strips to having it involve way too many characters. Here I’ll put it in list form:

– Originally the arc was going to start by having Captain America bring me in.
– There was going to be a bit where Eric basically ran through a list of different lawyers from She-Hulk to Phoenix Wright to Manhunter to so many more.
– Phoenix Wright wouldn’t have been the real version of the character, instead it would have been a cameo by one of my favorite youtubers Fraser Agar.
– Character witnesses would have ranged from Bill Gladman to Kang the Conqueror to nods to people and things we haven’t seen in the actual strip yet.
– Comic Eric in Jail for an extended period of time during the trial
– Minion would have played a much bigger part.
– The judge of the case would have been an actual character and another phoenix wright nod.
– “OBJECTION!” would have been yelled by comic Eric at least once.

There are some more that I’m blanking on but I’m glad I cut everything down to what you’re witnessing in it’s current incarnation. I know sometimes I let my imagination run wild which can lead to less than satisfactory endings for the arcs so I’m doing my best to reign in my crazier ideas.

I’m doing my best to use the blogging portion of the site more from reviews to editorial pieces. Sometime in the next few days I’ll have my Binding of Isaac review and thoughts up with hopefully a video aspect as well.

Next time…what is Matt up to and how does it involve the laziest roommate of all time?! Find out in 7, folks!

This is obviously the last of the major teases from the first strip all the way in January and I know some fans of the strip have been very excited to see this one. (mostly because of comic me finally getting in some hot water after years of madness)

Daredevil is another character who I’ve always loved but didn’t get to read until the Ed Brubaker run. (I also really like the Mark Waid stuff, but Brubaker was my Daredevil writer) It was the cool noir and pulpy take on the character that starts with the Punisher meeting Matt in jail and we take off from there. It’s really interesting and unique and hooked me from the start. (This was the official return of the Punisher to the Marvel universe proper and happened at the same time as Civil War) If anything I think Matt’s honor code as both a hero and a defense attorney are some of the most interesting things about him.

Also, yes, I know that’s not exactly how these things happen but I needed a fun way to get us from point A to point B, but I will delve into the ideas I scrapped in next week’s commentary.

I love how Justin draws Matt here as it’s obvious he’s been dealing with comic me for hours and possibly days at the point at the end of the strip.

Next week…just who are Eric and his attorney up against and just what are the charges he faces? Find out in 7, folks!

So, sometimes the best plans we can possibly come up with fall through completely. It happens and George has been crazy busy. So the original strip that was supposed to be today’s will hopefully be one of the first of 2015. (I say that because December is completely booked, just have to write it all)

With that being said, we had to come up with something in a really short amount of time so I figured I’d throw all my Rhode Island Comic Con experiences together as comic me completely nerds out to poor George. I think it’s a fun bit and works completely.

The show itself, while completely chaotic for some people, (you can look it up online; it’s a bummer, but I would hope they’re going to fix the issues as of next year) but for me, it was a pretty decent show. Got there super early in the morning and got to talk with some good friends like the Make Me a Dragon guys and my friend Jennie Wood as well as Fat Cat Funnies and Ian Nichols.

The celebrity area was flooded with wrestlers, voice actors, actors and even some cosplayers. I got to talk to Gigi Edgley who was Chianna on Farscape and is super awesome and lovely in person, J August Richards who people know as Gunn on Angel as well as Deathlock on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Richard Horvitz Invader Zim himself and several other awesome people.

The highlight of the weekend though was meeting Mick Foley in person for the first time. For those that don’t know, I had him on the podcast last year to talk the WWE comic ( and he’s seriously one of the major reasons I started writing in the first place. He’s the nicest guy imaginable, actually remembered being on the show and I gave him a copy of NCD vol 1. Seriously, it made my whole weekend to finally meet him.

I even got to hang out with Dr. Affect and Nurse Cause for a little bit of The Blockbuster Buster. We’ve met 3 maybe 4 times now and it’s always a pleasure to hang out with them. Even won Doc’s contest that he had running and got a very cool present for winning said contest.

I have more written content coming to the site very soon. A review of Alex and Riley’s first issue of their new ongoing “Rasputin” as well as just why the Binding of Isaac and it’s update/remake are on the top of my favorite games of all time. I’m really out to give you guys more content on the site at the end of the day at least 2-3 times a week. We’re also auditioning a new artist who may be joining the team very soon!

Next week…what does Eric get in the mail that lands him in hot water? And just what does it have to do with our January teaser from the beginning of the year? Find out in 7, folks!
